HALLOWEEN EN 2º ESO A

Hello everybody and Happy Halloween!

El pasado viernes 31 Noviembre los alumnos de 2ª Eso A tuvimos la suerte de contar con Yasi, nuestra teacher de Speaking, para contarnos cómo celebra ella Halloween en su país Estados Unidos. Nos enseñó un power point con muchas fotos e información del origen de esta tradición y cómo lo festejan actualmente. Fuimos unos privilegiados y lo pasamos genial. Además nuestro compañero Jorge Bretón trajo una Jack O´lantern hecha por él mismo. Yasi también nos escribe en este blog. ¡Estamos aprendiendo un montón con ella!

Tutora 2º Eso A

My name is Yasi (Yasaman) Sherbaf and I am an American working at Colegio Antonio de Nebrija as an English Language & Cultural Assistant during this school year. I studied International & Cultural Studies and Spanish in my undergraduate studies and last year I worked at a school in Madrid, Spain. I love helping others learn a language and I am really glad to be here in Murcia this year. For Halloween this year, since I grew up accustomed to this tradition, I decided to talk to some of my students about the background history of this day. I showed a powerpoint presentation to them, talking about the history of it, it's roots, and photos of myself and of different images related to the day. The students enjoyed the presentation and they took something away from it, new knowledge and an appreciation for the day, which is more than just dressing up and eating sweets.
